LADIES/SENIOR MEN 2019 DIARY DATES
Monday 4 March - Ducks & Drakes Competition
Monday 2 December - Christmas Competition
Both of the above are mixed competitions and will be organised by the Senior Men in 2019. The Ladies Section will organise in 2020.
Please note that, with the agreement of both the Ladies and Seniors Committees, the Ladies v Senior Men match scheduled for August Bank Holiday week has been deleted from the Competitions Calendar due to lack of support from both the Senior Men and Ladies.,
REVISED MINIMUM AGE LIMIT FOR SENIORS
For many years High Legh has been out of step with other golf clubs with regard to our minimum age requirement of 50 years for classification as a Senior.
With the support of the Company, the Committee has now rectified this long-standing anomaly and, with effect from 1 April 2019, our age requirement for Seniors will be 55. Any members aged between 50/55 who have already played in senior competitions will, of course, be exempt from this change.
12 HOLE COMPETITIONS
A reminder that winter 12 hole competitions will commence on Monday 5 November with a Singles Stableford. This competition is already live on BRS and, is being trialled as a 4ball so that we will be able to increase player capacity, if required.
TATTON LEAGUE VICTORY
Great news, as Im sure everybody knows by now, our Tatton League team prevailed in probably the most exciting finish since the competition began a good few years ago.
At the end of the last round at Heyrose, the team finished just 1 point in front of Birchwood, perennial winners, and brought home the Cup to High Legh for the first time since 2005 where it is now on show in the Seniors Section of the trophy cabinet.
So, huge congratulations to Bob Wood and his team for succeeding against the best of our local rivals. This does not just apply to the team at Heyrose but also to all other seniors who played for the team during the season. Peter Wilde also deserves a special mention in that he was nominated as the teams Player of the Year.
NEIL BURKE TROPHY
In recognition of the services of Neil as both a member and past Chairman of the Committee, a trophy will be provided for the winner of the OOM Eclectic competition. Neil introduced this competition in 2016 but, until now, has been without a trophy to present.
The Seniors Committee meets approximately every 2 months and minutes of the meetings have always been available in the Office for members to view.
The Committee has also agreed for such minutes to be uploaded onto the Club Website as an additional viewing facility. The minutes of the last meeting held on 8 October are already on the site.

3 DIVISIONS FOR SINGLES COMPETITIONS IN 2019
At present the two divisions used in singles competitions are completely imbalanced, particularly since the influx of new members in April. The Committee has, therefore, determined that three divisions will operate for all singles qualifying competitions in 2019.
Analysis of handicaps is under way and full details of the divisional handicap split will be forthcoming.
