As we move into June we hope for fine weather to enjoy golf and the full programme of events.
Firstly just to recap on happenings in May. Our Bunty Booth qualifier competition took place on one of the wettest of days and yet our winner Sally Mundy and runner up Pat Taylor-Carr both came in with 70 net! Sally will go on to play in the final at Lymm next year in June. Many congratulations!
There have been a number of inter club matches, both knock out competitions and East Cheshire Inter Club Shield fixtures. Many matches have been close and this month in addition to some of our own successes, it is High Legh's turn to congratulate some of the other clubs on their successes!
Sunday 7 May in the Bell Cup High Legh narrowly lost to Wigan 3-4 away
Saturday 13 May High Legh had a tough draw in the Liz Wilson tournament and lost to Tytherington away.
In the East Cheshire Club Shield:
Monday 8 May B team lost away Romiley
Monday 15 May Plate team lost away to Ringway
Monday 15 May A team lost at home to Tytherington
Monday 22 May B team won away at Northendon
Monday 22 May Friendly team won at home to Ringway
On Sunday 28 May in the 2nd round of the Archie Preston tournament High Legh narrowly lost to Breightmet at home.
Perhaps time for an excerpt from Rudyard Kipling's "If"
"....If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;...."
