Hoping this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the early days of the beautiful month of May! Without further ado I shall report on activities over the last month and highlight a few diary dates for the future.
Thursday 20 April
The club hosted a New Members Evening with tea, coffee and cake, so new members could meet the Management team, the Captains and other new members.
Kath Davies and I were happy to attend and enjoyed the company of our new ladies who we shall look forward to seeing at the club and introducing to other members.
The ladies' teams continue with their amazing form and terrific results as follows:
A Team at home v Astbury : won 5-2
Plate Team at home v Hale : draw 3 1/2-3 1/2
Sunday 30 April
Business Ladies' Team won away at Alderley Edge
Incredible and marvellous! Congratulations to all!
Friday Supper Golf
Supper Golf comps are held on alternate Fridays and the sign up sheet is on the notice board near the double doors. These social and informal competitions organised by Lesley Hewison continue to be extremely popular and bring another dimension to our members' golfing calendar.
I am informed that there is an annual 'role reversal' comp, which last year starred our Handicap Secretary in disguise winning the honour of teeing off from the red tees! I am uncertain at this stage whether a prize for this particular comp has ever been won by one of our ladies!
Friday Roll ups
The roll up times are 10.36-11.12 for all Fridays in May.
Please phone the range in advance to book in and despite the bkg confirmation, ideally arrive about 15 minutes before the first tee time to team up. Those doing 18 holes will tee off first. All ladies are welcome.
Monday 22 May
The date of the Safeguarding Children course has been changed to the 22 May.
Liz Smith and Christine McEwan are instrumental in running the new programme and working with the juniors. Should anyone like to assist or has any interest for their children, grandchildren or friends of etc, please contact Liz or Chris on either firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Tuesday 6 June
Women's Golf Day at High Legh. Details on the noticeboard and in the Women Golf magazine May/June edition. We have a few volunteers to assist on the day and model in the fashion show and we would be happy for additional volunteers to contact Sue Tagg.
Tuesday 13 June
Exchange to Vale Royal Abbey
A fabulous venue for our ladies to enjoy 18 holes of golf plus the traditional pre golf breakfast and post golf 2 course meal for £22. Sign up and payment taken on BRS from Sunday. The draw for teams and tee times will be done on Thursday 8 June.
Saturday 17 June
Captains' Day competition - details will follow separately.
Cakes for the halfway house. Each year we have a tremendous response from ladies who bake cakes and also those who are able to assist on the day. We would love to hear from you and this year Sheila Sims will be coordinating so please liaise with her in the clubhouse or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once again plenty going on as we get into full swing for the summer ahead!
