We will be moving to Winter Tees on Tuesday 18 October.
We will be monitoring the course conditions over the next couple of weeks, but hopefully the competitions prior to this date will be run as Qualifying Competitions.
SATURDAY - TWIN SHOT GUN STARTS - Over 12 Holes
Twin Shot Gun Starts will start on Saturday 5 November (W/L Rd 2 American Greensomes).
The start times will be 8.45am and 12.15pm
The holes played will be 1 to 8, 10, 14,17 & 18 - however these may vary throughout the season
For new members that weren't here last year, during the Winter Season in order to maximise the number of tees that are available for members we run Saturday Competitions over 12 holes with two shotgun starts.
Master Scoreboard has 16 Slots in the 1st game which is the 8.45am Shotgun and 16 Slots in the 2nd Shotgun which is 12.15pm. These slots are shown as 1 minute intervals, this is just to make 16 slots available.
EVERYBODY WILL START AT EITHER 8.45am or 12.15pm.
The sheet on master scoreboard does NOT indicate the holes from which you will start. The hole you start from will be decided by drawing a numbered ball in the Academy on signing in.
Teams will play in the competition in the four ball as entered on the entry sheet on master scoreboard.
The first 2 ball to sign in will draw a ball which will designate the starting for all 4 players.
All teams should be on their tee 10 minutes before their start time remembering that this might be some walk away from the Academy.
BOOKING TEES & CANCELLATIONS
As we move into the Winter Season as most of the competitions are Pairs and Team Competitions, please bear in mind that if you cancel and leave your playing partners without markers they will not be able to compete in the Competition.
If you don't want to play when the weather is not too good, maybe consider booking after you have seen the forecast, rather than booking and cancelling when you have seen the forecast and leaving your playing partners on their own.
The committee would emphasise that after the 3pm deadline on the day previous to the competition the committee, and the competition rules, consider that a commitment to play has been made by the player and that withdrawing after this time should only occur because of exceptional circumstances which should be notified to the committee at the earliest opportunity.
If you partner has to cancel after this time, the Committee believe that golf etiquette would mean that you should still turn up and mark the card of your fellow players even when your partner cannot play .
If you do not have a partner for a competition and would like to play, please book in via the Academy.
