There are few more glorious natural settings in Cheshire than this stretch of parkland surrounded by woodland of pine, oak and birch; the vibrant rhododendrons adding a splash of colour. The heavily wooded landscape has aesthetic and strategic benefits in the sense that it is both easy on the eye and ideal for creating well-defined hole routings.

9 Hole Academy Course

Set in rolling countryside, this magnificent example of a course presents all levels of golfer with a course that they will enjoy playing. The 2435-yard layout requires all types of shots to be played and is a real ‘risk and reward’ course with stunning views across Cheshire. The aim is to have golf that is accessible to all from the absolute beginner through to European Tour standard players, some of whom are already regular users of our existing facilities.

The academy offers a holistic approach to coaching with some of the Uks top coaches in residence. The Academys in house staff carry out assessments of clients needs including fitness levels, past injuries and performance levels,  before suggesting a program to suit individual needs with our coaches.  Specialists available on site include swing coaches, short ball specialists, puttng experts and even a top level golf fitness coach and golf psychologist.

Driving Range

Our brand new covered driving range is combined with the new American Golf National Academy. The range consists of 3 private teaching rooms, 14 public covered bays and additional outdoor bays. Each bay is 3.5 metres apart giving an open private feel for players to practice. There are 3 types of mats including floating mats that allow players to hit beneath the ball.

The range offers state of the art berm lighting alluminating the hitting area after dark and also has raised greens simulating realistic landing surface to chip/drive onto.

In addition to the driving range the club offers multiple practice facilities for members and visitors to use when visiting the club. The putting green is positioned next to the first tee and the long, Mckenzie style green allows for a variety of putts to practice with. There are also two pitching and chipping areas at the club. The first is open to everybody and features a 90 yard distance to practice all types of pitching shots. The second is tucked away in the woods on the old 6th green and is exclusive to the High Legh membership. This large green and open fairway allows for great practice for all types of shots. All greens are USGA and react the same as they would on our championship course.

American Golf

Situated within the National Academy is a large 3000 square foot American Golf Store offering all the latest clubs, accessories and clothing at the UK's best prices. The store also offers a bespoke fitting service including use of flight monitor technology if necessary utilising the Academys floodlit driving range facilities.

6 Hole Pitch & Putt

In addition to the two main golf courses, the club has recently opened a 6 hole pitch and putt course in a picturesque area close to the golf academy, which is specifically designed with children and beginners in mind. The course has short holes between 35 and 60 yards long, combined with extra large holes and a scenic setting. The course has proved to be a real hit with young golfers, novices and even experienced golfers wanting to practice their pitching and chipping.

Loan clubs are available from our golf reception, so why not bring the children down and give golf a try!
